Our thoughts remain with all those affected by the tragic accident that occurred at our Sense Colour factory in Louisville, Kentucky, in particular, the families and friends of our team members who sadly lost their lives.
We are continuing our work to make this situation right for members of the community as quickly as possible — including covering property damage and providing immediate housing assistance to those who need it.
Following the conclusion of the ATF*’s investigation ruling this an industrial accident, we have initiated our own rigorous on-site investigation to understand the exact circumstances that led to the explosion and to prevent future tragedies.
We are committed to keeping everyone, including our employees, their families, and the local community, informed of our findings.
Our Sense Colour team in Louisville met with members of the community, listened closely to their concerns, and are taking new steps to meet their needs. Our aim is to get community members support as simply and efficiently as possible. We are incredibly sorry for the disruption caused to their daily lives, and we accept accountability for it.
Over the coming days, we have representatives available to speak with affected community members at the local community building to provide information about housing support, mental health services, and other services requested by those impacted. This is in addition to the emergency toll-free number at 1-800-856-3333 and webpage at https://www.ddwcolor.com/community-support/ to submit property damage claims related to the incident and receive updates.
Representatives will be available in-person at the following dates and times:
- Tuesday, November 19th at 7pm to 9pm
- Wednesday, November 20th at 4 to 7pm
- Friday, November 22nd at 3pm to 5pm
- Saturday, November 23rd at 10am to 12pm
We take health and safety incredibly seriously and remain heartbroken that this incident occurred.
